Well, here we are again with a new post.
Not a whole lot has happened since last time except.........oh yeah! Chicago baby! It was probably one of the best times I've had with friends in a long long time. Kerry, Geoff, Dain and Brian, you guys gave me the perfect sendoff for Afghanistan. I can't thank you enough and words can't describe how great it was to see you guys. I only have a couple days before I head out and I have the same nerves I had when i left for basic training about three years ago....jeeze. My goal for the trip, if you want to call it that, is to get over and do my job and come home. It is also to try to talk to some people with the northern alliance if at all possible and see what their take is on the United States and the job that we're doing over there. I know there are a lot of people that oppose the war for their own reasons, but I myself support it for my own reasons as well. I've always been a firm believer that unless you've been to the country and seen what is going on and also have ALL of the facts (the ones that may support the president and also the ones that may contradict his reasoning)then you don't have a lot of room to sit and criticize a president because you aren't where he is having the information he has and making the decisions. That discussion is for another day though. My thanks to all for the well wishes. My email address while gone is going to be af.aaron.berry@baf.afgh.army.mil. If it changes I'll let you know. Good luck to everyone with their summer classes and those of you who have graduated this past spring. Good luck with starting your careers as well. See yah on the flipside

Rock on!

First day of the love month <3

So School has started off fine. Quite busy actually. I'm doing grad classes, working as a GA 20 hours a week, doing the concert committe stuff 10 hours a week (If you're in the KC area april 8th, come by warrensburg to club blue...got a good show featuring pomeroy coming in to club blue.) Afghanistan is confirmed for June-August for me so if you would like to see me in May before i head out let me know. It's only two months, I know, but it's going to be a long two. The trip to Key West was AWESOME!!! I got to ride jumpseat on a KC-135 again and fly the refueling boom for a bit. We flew down to Fort Jefferson (I think taht's what it was) 1,000 feet off the deck. All I know is that if i ever make it as a fighter pilot, aerial refueling is going to be a bitch of a time. Hung out with a CMSU grad this weekend who is flying F-15's now and shot the shit for a while. He's got some great stories of catching an updraft and going from 15,000 to 28,000 feet in less than a minute. That would be fun!!! OH! I got to fly a cessna 310 that one of my friends flies a guy around in. Nice plane too. Garmin 530/430 GPS stack. Full Autopilot, Onboard radar, TCAS, weather info, terrain warning, hot props, and 275hp a side. IT trues out at about 190. I'm working on the Key West pics, but am having trouble. See yah!

So it's the new year...

Well, it's been months so here's a quick update as to what's been going on. Been flying like crazy. Family has moved to Des Moines. Graduated this fall...yay! Working on my master's for a year. Going to afganistan in June. Went home for new year's and had a rockin' time. Other than that, right now i'm finishing up some flight time to get my 250 hours total for my commercial license and then i'm off to key west sunday for a few days with my reserve unit. It's rough, I know.

What's up people? It's been a little while, but not too long. This past weekend was, as everyone knows, the fourth anniversary since the attacks of september 11th. I still get the chills, and i think i'm not alone on this, when i see the video or even hear the words,"Nine Eleven". Anyway, I got to do flag detail for a Kansas City Chiefs game on Sunday. We had this huge flag that a bunch of us from my unit got to take out during the national anthem to a sold out crowd at Arrowhead. Now I'm not a huge Chiefs fan, but I do have a great respect for the people of KC because they gave us a standing ovation as we were carrying the flag onto the field. It's a hell of a feeling to know that the people support the troops regardless of their thoughts on the war. Anyway, class is going well. Staying VERY busy with flying, work and and coordinating events on campus through The Spotlight. Still on track to graduate in december and have started my master's with taking air accident investigation this semester. Awesome class, plain and simple. Till next time

And the Beat Goes On

August 28th~
Well, it's been quite a while. Summer was mostly uneventful. I finished a couple of classes for my gen eds and worked. I went home for the fourth of July for what was a good time thanks to the BBQ Debacle 2005!!! Adam Schoen, I thank you and your fmaily for letting us use your house for a our bash. Meantime I am cleared to gradumatate in December and have been accepted to grad school down here. I started my master's by enrolling in Aircraft Accident Investigation class. Other than that, same old stuff, different day.
